About Our Eye Clinic in Cochrane

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Dr. Shmyla Chaudhery has always been passionate about helping people see their best. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba before completing her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry, where she graduated with Magna Cum Laude honours. Her clinical experience includes training in Hot Springs, South Dakota, Topeka, Kansas, and Galesburg, Illinois.

After graduation, Dr. Chaudhery began her career in Alberta, where she practiced in Wainwright, Lloydminster, and Edmonton. She went on to open her first optometry clinic in Wainwright, which she later sold before founding her current practice in Calgary. With over a decade of experience, she continues to provide personalized care rooted in compassion, integrity, and dedication.

Dr. Chaudhery has a special passion for dry eye treatment, ocular disease management, contact lenses, and providing thorough eye exams for patients of all ages. She values building lasting relationships with each patient and creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable and cared for.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Chaudhery enjoys cooking, being outdoors, playing badminton, travelling, and spending quality time with her husband and 3 children.

With over 11 years of experience in the optical field, Michelle is a talented optician who began her career in Wainwright, Alberta. She has recently relocated to Cochrane to once again manage the office for Dr. Chaudhery, bringing her expertise and dedication to patient care to the community.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two grown children, family, friends, and her dog, Piper.

Crystal is proud to call Cochrane home for the past year, embracing life in the mountains after spending several years traveling and living abroad in Australia and Ireland. She loves being part of the vibrant local community and enjoys connecting with others through a book club at Found Bookstore. Cochrane has quickly become a place where she feels rooted, and is excited to continue growing both personally and professionally at Cochrane Eyecare.

Richard has a young family and is happy to be a part of the new family at Cochrane Eyecare! He has been in the industry for over 16 years and is grateful to be a part of this community and for the opportunity to bring his experience, warmth and passion to Cochrane!

When he isn’t talking eyes, Richard enjoys sports, the outdoors and spending time with his big Italian family!
